Magnificat Meal Movement

The founder is an Australian visionary, Debra Geleiskey, claimed to be a 'traditional catholic.' People were attracted by the group's practices of Eucharistic and Marian devotion. Only later do they discover Debra's 'prophecies' in which she alludes to the Catholic Church as the 'whore of Babylon'. She also refers to the 'sins of Paul', by which she means the entire programme of liturgical renewal carried out by the Second Vatican Council.

The director of Dialogue Ireland received an MA in Theology for his thesis(850K PDF):

SPIRITUALITY AND CULTISM:

A CASE STUDY OF A NEW RELIGIOUS MOVEMENT –

THE MAGNIFICAT MEAL MOVEMENT

from the Milltown Institute in 2006. Since then the movement has altered its identity as to be totally unrecognisable from the movement studied in his thesis. The esoteric dimension has taken over the movement as it moves in a gnostic/ Judaising direction. It is now extremely anti-Catholic and attempts to rewrite its history.
